I have finally received the majority of my crystals from Missouri.
It has been fun to go through and take a look at my long-lost friends. Most of them have been out of my possession for almost an entire year. It is hard to believe it has been so long!
When I was given the opportunity to move to Washington, I packed up the bare essentials and left within a week. It's nice to have my full crystal kit available once again, minus my large peridot and a clear quartz point I purchased from Hibiscus Moon. No worries though, they're at the local post office waiting for me to get in gear and pick 'em up!
Now I have the happy task of going through the plastic boxes I've been storing them in and getting them cleaned out. It is also an opportunity to redo the organization process which, truth be told, is even more important now than it was previously. Perhaps I'll make a video and share the process?
Note: Part of this process has been to match up my Crystal Guidance cards with their corresponding crystals. I feel that this helps them energetically link so that when I do an oracle reading with them, I'll be tapping into the crystal's energy without even having to bring it out from my collection. Not that that would ever be a problem. :)

Pagan Blog Project - E is for Evil
It's all about degrees.
We know that there are troubled people in this world. We also know that our legal systems have a hierarchy of punishment associated with the severity of a particular crime. Whether or not those punishments are always just is a topic for another day. My point here is that there are degrees of punishment based on degrees of action.
One of the commonly spouted tenets of Wicca is that we don't believe in evil. Some clarify the statement to mean an absolute evil, or even an entity associated as a devil in the Abrahamic religions. Others recognize that the world is full of both positive and negative, from the opposite ends of a battery to the behaviors of an individual. I believe that there are evil deeds: murder, rape, molestation, and torture. I also believe that a person committing evil deeds is not an evil person.
I hesitated on using this subject for this week's particular letter. So many people have an opinion on the subject and yet so few are able to articulate their views about it. That's not the fault of the individual. Instead, I think the blame falls to the different avenues of human study: psychology, sociology, and even philosophy.
If you look into the modalities I mentioned you will find scales of behavior, and more specifically, research into an action and whatever it was that caused said action. You'll also find that those actions can be explained by a myriad of conditions, viewpoints, and characteristics. Often, what one modality explains as XYZ, another will explain it as ABC. That's all fine and dandy until someone comes up to us at the supermarket after spotting our pentacle necklace and goes into a speech about how we're being lured by the dark side, whether we know it or not, and that evil is all around us.
Yes and no. My perspective is that anyone can perform evil actions. It's just that most of us have the correct conditioning, mental stability, and whatever else it may be to keep us from doing those actions. There are no evil people. Just deeds.
I'm interested in your thoughts on the subject. Please leave a comment and let me know if you agree, disagree, or don't really care to think about it in detail at this time.

Late Posts, No Video Updates, and A Partridge in a Pear Tree
Wait, what? No Partridge?
Well, axe that part then. I guess that just leaves the other two to think about.
Some of you may have noticed that I seemed to vanish. I've been feeling a little under the weather for the past week or so and have been taking it easy to attempt to recuperate. Blog posts and videos are coming soon, so keep an eye out.
Just remember to moisturize it now and again so that it doesn't dry out. (C;

Day 7 - Protecting Treasure
Our final card in the 7 Day Oracle Challenge is now revealed.

The imagery of the card depicts a young girl atop a treasure chest. An open umbrella is above her head to deter any rain that would fall upon her.
This card has two different messages for us. The primary message is that we are under protection, symbolized by the umbrella. The secondary message is one of holding on to what you hold dear, whether that be family or friends, a pet, or even the development of a potential romantic relationship.
"You are not alone and have no need to fear. Embrace your courage." (p109)
This card gives us the knowledge that as we move forward, we are being looked upon by our guides and under their protection, both physical and spiritual. This card gives us peace of mind to advance into our lives with our safety net established behind us. In my opinion, it also reminds us to periodically look at what we hold dear, what we value as treasure, and to reevaluate as necessary.

Day 6 - Listening
Today's card features the image of an elephant. Two birds are also featured, as are a series of music notes. My intuition is a telling me that it is time to be quiet and become aware of what is occurring around me.

The guidebook continues along the same line. "Pay attention not only to what is being spoken, but also to what is not being said at the moment, for deeper message is not always obvious. Listen with your heart, not just your ears, and you'll find clarity." (p150-151)
For some reason I'm being drawn to work with both my heart and throat chakras after this reading. Time to break out the rose quartz and blue lace agate. Until tomorrow, folks!

Day 5 - Strength
I must apologize for being so late with this post today. Things just seemed to continuously come up throughout the day and knocked me out of my usual rhythm. Things should be back to normal tomorrow, however.
Today's card is Strength. Again, the title says it all.

"You can connect with and channel the power of the universe. The strength card indicates that your ideas are being tested and refined and relationships are being deepened. No matter what happens, nothing can move you off the course of evolution." (p124)
After yesterday's card, today's drawing brings us to a new direction.

Day 4 - Details, Details
Today we've been gifted with another card loaded with imagery. After playing with the lighting in my photographing area, along with playing with camera settings, I was able to produce this little gem to give you a better view:
I didn't need any intuition with this card because the words at the bottom said it all. "Be aware that what you need to know lies in the details. If you're entering into an agreement of any kind, pay attention to them before, not after, when it's too late." (p121)
After yesterday's message telling us to take a break and embrace a state of spiritual solitude, today we're being given the message to look at everything, especially the smaller details, to provide the full picture. I'm very interested in tomorrow's card to see how this relates!
